Who We are

founders

Family at the Fork 6

Tracey and Kelly are a husband and wife team that have traveled extensively, shooting sporting clays for over 25 years – recreationally and competitively.

They are both NSCA Certified Instructors.

At the Dickson’s it’s a family affair. Our kids have been shooting since they were very young. We’ve had many b-day parties, welcome home from college gatherings and reunions with friends and family on sporting clays ranges. It’s where we come together to be out in the fresh air, catch up without electronics, have a friendly competitive game and then go grab some oysters and a beer afterwards and tell stories about the one that got away.

We now work with others and expose them to the experience sporting clays provides at a level that suits each person individually while enjoying one of the fastest growing sports in the country. Our goal is to help you accelerate your learning curve while having fun and an experience of a lifetime!

We can’t wait to meet you!

tracey dickson - Level II Instructor

Clay Pigeon Instructor

Tracey started shooting when he was 10 years-old in San Diego, California. At that time, it was primarily dove hunting. His career path became off road racing and he drove for American Honda for years. He then transitioned into Indy cars and most recently, for the past 20 years, NASCAR. His dad introduced him to sporting clays while he was racing to give him something to do off the race tracks that was competitive, skillful and a heck of a lot of fun. Tracey was hooked.

He is a Class A shooter who’s patience and knowledge make him an amazing coach. He’s good with youth and beginners because he breaks down the skills required into their language. Because of his extensive experience he excels at helping skilled shooters increase their scores and get to the next class level.

Tracey lives in Mooresville, NC – just north of Charlotte (with Kelly)

The afternoon spent with Tracey was one of the most enjoyable shooting events of my life. Excellent instruction, wonderful attitude and a pleasure to be around.
Bottom line . . . stellar experience.

Kelly Dickson - Level I Instructor

One of only 30 women in the US NSCA Level 1 Instructor Certified

Have you ever had one of those first dates? Well, mine involved a gun, a dove and a pretty cute guy (do you see where this is going!). Tracey introduced me to sporting clays over 25 years ago and I was hooked immediately. I had been a golfer, but this had speed, eye-hand coordination, we were outside in beautiful locations and competing together. What more could you ask for? So, I picked up my first gun in my late 20’s and haven’t put it down since. We soon had a group of friends who traveled throughout the west competing in tournaments together.

As a corporate executive by day my shooting skills have come in handy many times during corporate shooting events and fundraisers over the years. For women who are reluctant to try sporting clays, my ability to see the sport from your perspective makes coaching sessions enjoyable and stress free. “I want to see more women enjoying this sport and getting the thrill and comradery out of it that I have.” But, don’t be fooled, the teaching techniques I share get everyone to the next level.

Kelly lives in Mooresville, NC – just north of Charlotte (with Tracey).

"My 12 year-old and I had an amazing time with Kelly! She was an excellent instructor and was wonderful with my son. It was a fun experience and was a great way to spend time together. We both shot a ton of clays and we can’t wait until next time. It was awesome!"
